About the Role:
Are you passionate about delivering exceptional customer service in a friendly and supportive environment?
We are currently on the lookout for an experienced Barista/All-rounder to join our friendly team in our on campus Yalburru Cafe on a permanent Part-time basis. The ideal candidate will have a passion for coffee, exhibit high quality customer service skills and have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Our Yalburru Cafe is well appointed, catering to students, parents and staff and prides itself in providing an exceptional customer experience.
The successful applicant will work Term-time, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday with the additional requirement to undertake occasional weekend work. The role will commence from Monday 10th June 2024.
Responsibilities may Include:
- Being the face of Yalburru Cafe by delivering high quality customer service to students, parents and teachers;
- Creating high quality beverages and meals in line with customer and food safety requirements and processes;
- Preparation and assembly of food items;
- Foster a positive environment, which provides consistent, efficient and friendly service for customers and exceeds customer expectations;
- Maintain inventories by replenishing supplies, drinks and food items;
- Keep equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance and informing line manager of required repairs;
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment;
- Controlling daily sales and banking (electronic) – daily banking process
- Stocking of food and drink displays;
- Handle payments through Point-of-Sale System;
- Partake in general cleaning duties within a kitchen, food preparation area, cold and storerooms, including the cleaning of cooking and general utensils used in the kitchen.
- Assist with events and functions when required.
Key Selection Criteria
- Demonstrated customer service skills with a focus on delivering high-quality products and service.
- Experience with safe handling of food and food preparation, and operation of general kitchen equipment.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time efficiently, and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. (Experience operating within a School environment highly advantageous)
- Demonstrated experience with point-of-sale software and equipment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to manage a range of work tasks and outcomes and liaise effectively with stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail & organisational skills.
Essential Qualifications:
- Have a current Positive Notice working with children Blue Card, or the ability to obtain one.
- Current Barista qualifications and/or experience.
- Experience and/or qualifications in food preparation, food safety and handling.
