The Team
The Wholesale Pricing, Analysis and Systems team within the Trading and Transition business unit is responsible for managing, enhancing, and extending EnergyAustralia’s electricity and gas wholesale market analyses and modelling capabilities to ensure that planning, trading, strategy, and policy decisions are informed by an in depth understanding of and insight into market drivers and directions.
About the role
To lead and accelerate the Energy Transition, the Trading & Transition business unit needs to build cutting edge technology tools to help with decision making and explore new opportunities. Embedded within the Pricing, Analysis & Systems team, you would be part of the cross-functional agile team driving delivery of key analytical initiatives that substantially increase the value from EA’s wholesale markets portfolio.
You will be accountable for managing the Battery Optimisation product, a complex bespoke solution which optimises EnergyAustralia’s utility battery portfolio. The Product Owner is responsible for maximising the value of this product resulting from the work of the agile squad.
- Develop and maintain a detailed technical understanding of the Battery Optimisation Product to support the direction of the product
- Representing the Battery Optimisation Product in interactions with other business and technology teams
- Contribute to the Battery Optimisation product vision and the broader Trading Persistent Team strategic roadmap.
- Lead quarterly planning to ensure the quarterly goals align with the product strategy
- Support the team to deliver value by providing day to day insights and guidance to enable the team to deliver the sprint and quarterly goals
- Work with other Product Owners and product managers to deliver value-adding technology tools via the Trading Persistent Team to help Trading & Transition to deliver its strategic goals
- Ensure the expected product benefits are delivered
What are we ideally seeking?
- Tertiary qualifications in commerce, business, or a related field
- Experienced in Product Ownership/Management within the Wholesale Energy industry
- Ability to develop a deep understanding of the technical solution for the product within complex technical landscape.
- Strong appreciation of modern technology systems, database environments and dealing with large data sets
- Previous experience with Battery Optimisation Product is desirable.
- Excellent system thinker who can connect the dots and identify solutions to complex problems.
- Previous experience in influencing a broad range of stakeholders and achieving buy-in from them through implementing new technology solutions.
