Job description

Company Overview:

Step by Step Interventions is a leading provider of therapeutic services dedicated to enhancing the lives of individuals with disabilities. With a commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centred care, we offer comprehensive therapeutic services to support individuals in reaching their full potential and leading fulfilling lives.

Our mission is to empower individuals with disabilities to achieve their highest level of independence, well-being, and quality of life. We strive to provide innovative and evidence-based therapeutic interventions using the principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), fostering community growth, development, and inclusion. Our services are delivered with empathy, compassion, and a commitment to evidence-based practices that yield measurable outcomes.

Our team comprises highly qualified and dedicated professionals passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of individuals. Our therapists and specialists are experienced, licensed, and continuously undergo professional development to ensure the highest standards of care and expertise.

We actively collaborate with schools, healthcare providers, community organisations, and other professionals involved in caring for and supporting individuals with disabilities. We believe in fostering strong partnerships to ensure coordinated and holistic care for our clients.

By offering a wide range of therapeutic services and fostering a supportive and inclusive environment, we are dedicated to helping individuals overcome challenges, achieve their goals and increase their quality of life.

Position Overview:

As a Behaviour Consultant, you will play a key role in providing expert-level behaviour analytic services to individuals with behavioural challenges and developmental disorders. Your primary responsibility will be conducting assessments, designing behaviour intervention plans, and overseeing evidence-based interventions. Within your role, you will collaborate with clients, families, and other allied health professionals to achieve meaningful behaviour change and promote overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Behaviour Assessment and Analysis: Utilise a comprehensive toolkit for functional behaviour assessments, leveraging interviews, and direct observations to understand and analyse challenging behaviours. Your expertise will guide our intervention strategies with in-depth behavioural pattern analysis.
  • Intervention Design and Execution: Craft individualised behaviour intervention plans, including the judicious use of restrictive practices when necessary. Your role is pivotal in collaborating with clients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure effective plan implementation, providing guidance and training to all involved.
  • Comprehensive Evaluations: Through diverse assessment tools and keen observations, you'll develop a deep understanding of our clients' abilities, identifying strengths, areas for growth, and barriers. This critical analysis supports the creation of bespoke skill acquisition strategies.
  • Personalised Program Design and Implementation: Beyond planning, you will actively oversee the implementation of personalised programs. Your role involves ensuring that these plans are executed with precision, benefiting from your continuous support and the application of ABA principles.
  • Data Stewardship and Insight: You will be responsible for the management of data collection systems, analysing behavioural data to monitor progress and guide our interventions. Your analytical skills will ensure treatments are effective and tailored to our clients' needs.
  • Partnership and Outreach: Engage with a network of professionals, from speech therapists to teachers, to ensure a cohesive approach to client care. Your leadership in education and skill transfer to families will be crucial in achieving comprehensive care.
  • Professional Development and Ethics: Stay abreast of the latest in behaviour analysis, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and legislation. Your commitment to continuous learning will be key to our team's success.
  • Leadership and Mentorship: Lead by example, providing training and supervision to our clinical team. Your guidance will enhance our therapy staff's skills and ensure high-quality care.
  • Program Development: Play an integral role in evaluating and enhancing our behavioural programs and services. Your insights will be invaluable in shaping the future of Step by Step Interventions.
