Skillfield is a Melbourne based Data and Cyber Security consultancy and professional services company that transforms complex IT problems into simple solutions.
About the roles:
Skillfield is looking for an experienced Business Intelligence or Data Analyst who demonstrates a consultative approach to understand stakeholder needs and provide tailored data-driven recommendations. This is a hybrid, Melbourne CBD based role, working in our client offices at least 5 days per fortnight onsite with the client as well as in our office 1 day per week. (typ Tues to Thu).
As a Skillfield consultant, you will be a team player, passionate about data, with the ability to deliver quickly and at times independently with minimal supervision. Your role will vary based on your experience and your projects. As a Data Analyst Consultant you can expect to be working closely with enterprise level stakeholders, analysing complex data sets, utilising your Tableau, Tableau Prep and Alteryx capabilities within our expert team, presenting actionable insights to solve business problems.

As a BI & Data Consultant your responsibilities will include:
- Working closely with multiple business stakeholders to understand requirements and business problems.
- Discover and Analyse data sets to be used for analysis.
- Work with data engineers to develop and test new data sources.
- Prepare, Cleanse and Transform data using data preparation tools such as Alteryx or Tableau Prep. Prepare Data sources for Tableau Server.
- Build reports and present insights using Tableau or Power BI and publish on server.
For you to be successful in this role you should have the following skills and experience:
- Creating, publishing reports and presenting insights using Tableau and Tableau server/cloud - Minimum 2 years experience in data visualisation and reporting for Analysts / BI Consultants
- Alteryx, Tableau Prep or other data preparation/wrangling tools.
- analysing large volumes of data from multiple data sources.
- Python, R, Java, React, or similar software skills would also be highly desirable but not mandatory.
- Agile methodology and a knowledge of Jira.
- Good communication skills.
NOTE for Applicants :- A skills assessment will be conducted as part of the interview process should you be shortlisted for the interview. These roles are for skilled Tableau practitioners who have minimum 2+ years industry experience. Your CV should demonstrate industry experience with Tableau using CARE or STAR.
