About this opportunity
As the Biodiversity Officer - Community Partnerships, you will plan, develop and operate conservation projects and programs including the Habitat Protection Program (land for wildlife) to ensure all conservation and natural resource management objectives are being met.
Additionally, you’ll also:

• Be responsible for the administration of the Habitat Protection Program, Scenic Rim Region.
• Plan, develop and operate conservation projects or programs of a moderately complex nature
• Coordinate and deliver the Environmental Grants Program, which will include liaison with community groups interested in undertaking environmental services within the region.
• Promote the Habitat Protection Program and Environmental Grants Program as well as other nature conservation initiatives by assisting in displays, presentations and other educational activities.
• Develop newsletters articles, media releases, workshops and other interpretive material where required.
• Provide high level input and support for all community related enquiries, requests for information and referral points to local and state agencies and service providers in relation to conservation and natural resource management matters

About you

• A Bachelor Degree in Environmental Science, Natural Resource management, Environmental Management or other relevant degree well regarded.
• Project Management qualifications well regarded.
• Confident digital literacy skills including a solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, ability to use programs such as council's electronic data management suite
• Well-rounded verbal communication skills with the ability to build rapport and consciously tailor your communication approach and style to suit the stakeholder group needs
• Collaborative, motivated and community focused attitude
• Prior Experience in either Environmental Management, Natural Resource Management or Ecology
• An understanding of legislation associated within the region Sustainable Planning Act 2010, Vegetation Management Vegetation Management and Other Legislation Amendment Act 2013, Nature Conservation Act 1992 and the Environmental Protection and Biodiversity Act 1999.
