Two Birds is a professional services practice that offers business advisory services. Our clients require a professional accountant to engage with them on a monthly ongoing basis advising them on the performance of their business and providing detailed analysis and recommendations to ensure that their business continues to grow and achieves its financial goals.
We are offering $83,000 + super to a full time Accountant with at least 4 years of highly relevant experience and suitably qualified. The successful candidate will join a growing Australian professional financial management services practice that specialises in servicing Architects, Interior Designers, Creative Professionals and Start-ups. You will report directly to the Finance Director and be responsible for managing your own clients including managing and reviewing the bookkeepers work.
Main Duties of the Role:
Reporting to the Finance Director, the main duties of the role include, but are not limited to:
· Performing reconciliations of accounts on a regular basis
· Processing payments and invoices accurately and within expected time periods
· Verifying financial statements, ledgers and accounts and making corrections where appropriate
· Preparing and compiling company financial reports – Profit Loss, Balance Sheet, Cashflow Statement and Forecasts, Staff Utilisation, Project Performance. Includes analysis and commentary on variance to forecasts. Recommendations for improved company performance to achieve goals.
· Preparing BAS/IAS return including other compliance reporting and lodgement
· Preparing and presenting the yearly budget and cashflow in collaboration with the client
· Assisting in the preparation of year-end statutory accounts
· Examining the proficiency of the software programs used to organise data and providing recommendations for potential alternatives if required.
· Project Accounting which includes any of the following:
o Entry of all project-based information into project software systems as required
o Generation of Project Reports
o Generation of monthly invoicing for clients
o Preparation of and client presentation of monthly reports
o Assistance with the establishment and maintenance of client multiplier rate
· Providing overall support to the two Directors of Two Birds and collaborating with other members of the finance team on various accounting projects
· Supervising, training and managing the performance of the bookkeeper across Bank Reconciliations, Processing Payrolls, and Entering of Accounts Payable
· Performing bookkeeping duties as required
· Proactively identify new initiatives that could benefit the organisation
· Other ad hoc duties as required
Qualifications, education, experience, and abilities required:
· A minimum of relevant Bachelor qualification
· Highly proficient in Xero, MYOB, MS Outlook
· At least 4 years’ experience as an Accountant (required)
