    • Classification - PO1 - Professional Officer L1 - $67,466 to $82,359
    • Second Classification - TGO2 - Technical Officer L2 - $74,128 to $78,700
  • Employment Full time - Long Term Contract (3 Years - Up to end May 2027)

About the Opportunity

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the Biomedical Engineering team as aBiomedical Engineering Professional /Biomedical Engineering Technician, where your primary objective will be to:

  • Assure the safety, effectiveness, availability and compliance of biomedical technology used directly for patient diagnosis, treatment or monitoring for or in connection with the public hospital and healthcare facilities of SA Health.
  • Provide preventative and remedial maintenance of biomedical devices and systems, under the guidance of more experienced professional officers, which contributes to the ongoing operation, availability, application and maintenance of current and emerging biomedical devices, systems and technologies.  
  • Exercise professional judgement to provide services across a range of technologies, and apply procedures, methods and discipline standards within prescribed areas as directed, to support the unit's operations.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A degree in Engineering (Biomedical) or equivalent with eligibility for full membership into one of the appropriate professional bodies. (Professional Officer PO1 Only)
  • A Diploma or Advanced Diploma in a relevant technical discipline. (Biomedical Engineering Technician TG02 Only)           

Additionally:

  • The ability to work efficiently, either independently or in a team, and to effectively evaluate problems, situations and information, meet deadlines and work under pressure, and effectively use technical resources and information.
  • The knowledge of the clinical application and technical aspects of biomedical devices and systems, including a strong understanding of the impact of device operation on the patient and diagnostic outcomes.
