  • Proven experience in restaurant or bistro management, preferably in a busy and diverse environment.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to handle difficult situations with tact and professionalism.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

ABOUT US
The South Eastern Hotel is a large family-friendly hotel with an indoor playground and busy bistro. The front bar is an ideal place to play a few games of pool and place a few bets in the TAB or Keno. The modern gaming room is constantly updated with new games and offers great prizes for members. The South Eastern Hotel can cater to large or small groups with a range of menus, platters, and drinks packages. 

THE JOB

We are looking for an experienced and organised leader to be a shift supervisor in our busy Bistro and drive the team and its exceptional customer service.

We are looking for someone with a minimum of two years experience, a passion for hospitality, and who is available over a 7-day roster. As a Bistro Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the operations and customer service standards each shift.

  • Customer Service: 
    • Interact with guests, ensuring their needs are met and problems are resolved promptly.
    • Monitor guest feedback and reviews, taking proactive measures to enhance guest satisfaction.
    • Handle guest inquiries, reservations, and special requests, demonstrating excellent customer service skills.
    • Undertake general waiting and service duties of food and beverages
    • Proficient in the professional service/supply, dispensing/mixing of liquor and other alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages
    • Consistent and professional delivery of the venue’s products
    • Ensure a good understanding of all food and beverage offerings throughout the venue, including being well versed in all menus available, food service systems, and till operations
    • Communicate and liaise with team members, kitchen, and other areas of operations.
  • Operational Management:

    • Oversee day-to-day operations of the bistro, ensuring smooth service and high-quality food and beverages.
    • Maintain exceptional cleanliness and hygiene standards in the bistro area.
    • Support ordering, and stock control to ensure adequate supplies at all times.
    • Monitor and manage food quality, presentation, and portion sizes to maintain guest satisfaction.
  • Team Leadership:

    • Train, and supervise bistro staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
    • Maintain staff schedules, ensuring adequate coverage for busy periods and events.
    • Foster a positive work environment, encouraging teamwork and professional development among staff members.
  • Other

    • Work closely with the management team to develop pricing strategies and promotional activities to maximize revenue.
    • Safe Work Procedures for all areas of the hotel at all times as per WHS Act 2012
    • Ensure personal compliance with Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA)
    • Any other duties directed by Management
