About Blackwater Mine:
Situated 73 kilometres south-east of Emerald, Blackwater is the second-largest open-cut metallurgical coal mine in the Bowen Basin. This long-life operation began in 1967 and has grown to become one of the longest coal mines in the Southern Hemisphere, with a strike length of 80 kilometres. Blackwater extracts high quality metallurgical and thermal coal for the export market using truck and shovel, as well as loader and dragline.
About the Role
Whitehaven Coal have a new exciting opportunity in our Blackwater Maintenance team for a Warehouse Supervisor. The role will work with a small team to supervise the warehouse and inventory service for our Blackwater operations team.
What You’ll Do
Reporting to the Superintendent - Warehousing your role will consist of:
- Supervise the site warehouse team in managing the supply logistics, inventory and consumables for our Blackwater mining, maintenance and processing operations.
- Manage supply logistics process and procedure creation, review and implementation of inventory controls measures
- Manage inventory levels, stock accuracy & movements
- Shutdown, critical spares and non-business as usual supply logistics planning management.
- Coordinate with logistics providers & internal stakeholders to ensure delivery of materials and housing
- Liaison with Whitehaven corporate business specialists in procurement, inventory management and supply logistics.
What You’ll Bring
- Experience in warehouse management, preferably in mining or heavy industry sector.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management principles and logistic processes.
- Knowledge of Supply Platforms is essential (the site uses SAP for inventory management).
- Exceptional communication skills.
- High levels of organisational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
