About the role
We are delighted to announce that we are inviting applications for the role of MMU Operator at our Cairns QLD Quarry site locations.
Our MMU Operators (SSO) form part of a well-oiled, united, high-performing, supportive, and diverse team of Blasting Professionals. As a valued member of our team, you will be required to operate an MMU (Mobile Manufacturing Unit). An MMU is a highly advanced Heavy Rigid vehicle fitted with the latest technology and onboard computer systems and is used to pump explosive products into pre-drilled blast holes on our customer quarry sites.

What You Will Be Doing
- Demonstrating and setting the example of our key Company value “Safety is our priority, Always”;
- Operating our MMU trucks and other associated blasting plant machinery;
- Providing operational blasting knowledge and advice to all our client Blast Crews and associated stakeholders;
- Assisting with preventative maintenance on all associated plant and machinery;
- Assist with the ‘hands on’ delivery of explosive products into pre-drilled blast holes on bench;
- Working in tight unison with our teammates to provide excellence in service to our valued customers;
- At all times, act with integrity and respect.
What You Will Bring
- A current Heavy Rigid (HR) driver's license is essential.
- Demonstrated work experience in physically demanding environments.
- The ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
- The ability to pass all required security checks in which to obtain a Dangerous Goods license.
- An excellent, positive, and team-based attitude where you look out for your teammates.
- A basic mechanical comprehension would be highly regarded.
- The ability to pass a pre-employment medical including full functional assessment and drug and alcohol screen.
