About the role
As a Blood Matters Program Manager you will provide expertise, guidance and governance of the Blood Matters Program. This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference to patient and health service outcomes in blood management.
This role plays a pivotal part in guiding improvements in the quality, safety and appropriateness of blood management and clinical transfusion practice. As well as participating in state and national initiatives in the area of product and demand management. You will also manage a small dynamic team and be responsible for strategic and day-to-day program management with a particular focus on positive organisational change and development, quality improvement, and risk management.

- Tertiary qualification within a relevant health discipline
- Senior experience in health-related field (transfusion knowledge highly desirable)
- Experience in, and demonstrated experience of, strategic project management
- Strong working knowledge of quality improvement and risk management principles and techniques
- Well-developed contemporary clinical management, organisational and administrative skills
- Excellent communication, facilitation and negotiation skills
- Experience at effective coaching/consulting for the diagnosis and implementation of change, management of team dynamics and facilitation of work relationships within teams
- Competent in effectively managing diverse teams
- Understanding of the use of patient blood management principles, blood and blood products and alternatives
- Extensive stakeholder engagement and liaison skills
This is a permanent part-time position working 30.4 hours per week. The role will be based in our Melbourne head office located in West Melbourne, VIC.
