The Opportunity
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Boarding Coordinator to join our vibrant boarding community. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of young women and is integral to the growth and development of the boarders who live at Loreto.
This role is permanent part-time working Wednesday 3:00pm to Saturday 12:30pm during the school term. Sleepovers in the Boarding School are required.
The Role
- In consultation with the Director of Boarding, Heads of Boarding and other boarding staff, share the responsibility for the safety, welfare, behaviour, personal development, and pastoral care of Boarders.
- Active supervision of boarders while on duty
- Assist with internal and external recreational activities
- Encourage the growth in the boarders as individuals and as a community
- Contribute and be part of a team that builds positive relationships amongst staff, boarders and parents
- Prioritise the safety and well-being of students at all times
- Work only during school term time (including crossover days at the end and beginning of each holiday period)
- Paid throughout the year - salary is not averaged
- 17.5% leave loading
- meals provided in the staff dining room during your rostered shift
- Teaching, nursing or youth camp experience would be highly advantageous
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work collegially in a team environment
- Demonstrate personal maturity and a warm and welcoming manner
- A current CPR, First Aid and Duty of Care Certificate or be willing to obtain these credentials.
- Working with Children Check (WWCC) or willingness to obtain.
