Boarding Supervisor

Wilderness School is a non-denominational day and boarding girl’s school educating students from Early Learning Centre through to Year 12. Since 1884, Wilderness School has prepared girls to be adventurous, courageous, responsible, and respectful learners and leaders. About the Role:

We have an opportunity for a Boarding Supervisor to join our team. The Boarding House Supervisor is an integral part of the boarding community. Working closely with the Head of Boarding, the Boarding House Supervisor provides a nurturing, safe and inclusive community, ensuring a high-quality experience for our boarding girls.

Boarding Supervisors work across the day and overnight:

• Developing and demonstrating a strong understanding of individual student needs and differences of all boarders and liaising with the Head of Boarding, other boarding and School staff to support the needs of each boarding student.
• Taking a leadership role encouraging girls to manage their responsibilities, develop life skills and promote individual self-efficacy.
• Coordinating leave including obtaining approvals, monitoring leave, liaising with relevant school staff and determining when to follow up with students and their families or hosts regarding leave arrangements.
• Assisting in ensuring boarding student records are kept up-to-date and include all relevant information such as medical information, emergency contact details, visitors’ lists. 
• Ensure the security of the Boarding House including and work health safety regulations. 

About You 

We are looking to continuing to build a team who are:  

• Experienced working within a Boarding or residential/educational environment. 
• Exceptional communicators. 
• Highly capable of motivating students and influencing growth in student learning. 
• Flexible, adaptable and operate effectively in a changing environment.
• Empathetic and warm and can develop trusting relationships with the boarding girls and their families.
• Confidential and can be positive role models.
