The Role:

We have a permanent position based at Tomago for an experienced Boilermaker (we would also consider applicants who are experienced Welders or are a 3rd or 4th year apprentice), working a 4 day week roster (Monday – Thursday or Tuesday – Friday). This role will involve working on various vehicles and defence projects such as defence docking stations, truck builds and emergency service vehicle builds, using a range of metals (aluminium, mild steel and stainless steel). 

To be considered for this role you will: 

• Be a trade qualified boilermaker (or equivalent) and have worked in your trade for at least 2 years (or an experienced Welder. We would also consider applicants from apprentices).
• Be proficient in MIG welding (TIG also is ideal but not essential)
• Demonstrate competency and confidence in all areas of boilermaking 
• Have the ability to read and interpret technical drawings, and follow instructions and work procedures.
• Be able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Demonstrate a high quality of workmanship, attention to detail.
• Be physically capable to perform repetitive tasks – lifting, bending, twisting.
• Successfully complete a pre-placement medical including D&A testing.
