The Opportunity

There are some exciting things happening at GB in our Self-Insurance business and we want YOU to be a part of it all!

Our Self-Insurance business is seeking a Branch Manager, based in VIC to support growth, drive superior outcomes, develop capability and focus on continuous improvement opportunities. This opportunity will be offered on a permanent full-time basis with flexibility to WFH.

This role will play a pivotal role in sustaining a partnership based on trust and transparency with Clients, the National Leadership Team, members of the wider GB Leadership Team and other key stakeholders, so that GB is positioned as market leading, innovative, caring and compassionate.

You will lead our geographically dispersed operation and inspire both the leaders and staff located across several offices Nationally, to achieve key KPI's in line with customer expectations and regulator requirements, across several jurisdictions.

How you'll make an impact

In this role, you will:

  • Provide day-to-day leadership and management of your Branch to meet and exceed contractual, compliance and performance targets
  • Support the development of resource capability, drive quality assurance activities that: support continuous improvement, achieve financial targets and demonstrate behaviours that are in line with Our Values ('The Gallagher Way')
  • Contribute to shaping our culture through high levels of staff engagement, with a view to recognising the importance of diversity and increasing staff satisfaction levels and having pride in our strategic goals
  • Analyse current and future trends and needs and accurately assess claims operations functional responsibilities, competitive strengths and vulnerabilities
  • Contribute to the development, implementation and maintenance of the Business Plan
  • Provide strategic direction as part of the Operational Leadership Team
  • Develop strong and effective mutually beneficial working relationships with clients and stakeholders
  • Lead and mentor direct reports and provide them with coaching to ensure they reach their full potential
  • Maintain and drive talent management and succession planning to ensure talent pipelines are established and supported

About you

We are looking for an enthusiastic, compassionate and customer-centric individual who has:

  • Significant experience in workers' compensation or claims management leadership, with sound knowledge of workers' compensation legislation
  • Advanced knowledge of Personal Injury management concepts
  • Considerable demonstrated experience leading, inspiring and developing operational service teams
  • Demonstrated experience in leading performance through qualitative and quantitative metrics and the implementation of stretch goals
  • Demonstrated experience in recruiting, developing and retaining individuals, teams and organisational talent
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and resolving conflict in the workplace
  • Highly developed communication skills, with the ability to engage at all levels of organisation
  • A strong sense of team and collaboration
  • Demonstrated experience in connecting information to identify patterns or trends that require corrective action across people and operations
  • Knowledge of general business and administrative practices and managing cost effective business activities
