Role summary

Brand Assurance Co-Ordinator is focused on reviewing products and managing submissions featuring any Warner Bros. Discovery owned properties (e.g. Looney Tunes, DC Comics and Harry Potter), and third party owned properties (e.g. certain Theatrical properties) within a contractually stipulated time-frame in the following areas: character likeness; legal copyright/trademark information; WBDCP’s policies and brand management.

In this role, you will utilise your knowledge in product design to help drive revenue into Warner Bros. Discovery Consumer Products. You will work quickly and efficiently using the approval system Star Labs and work with Creative and PD to ensure that licensees produce compelling product that best represents our brands at retail.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Star Labs Approval Systems

  • Utilising extensive knowledge of the manufacturing and product development process and applying Warner Bros. Discovery Consumer Products policies and procedures, in order to provide meaningful, detailed comments on the concept, pre-production and final samples submitted by licensees. 

  • Reviewing Star Labs submissions and ensuring that product is on brand, has design and editorial storytelling, and product quality.

  • Coordinating submission of items including but not limited to product, packaging, marketing materials, (i.e. commercial, sell sheets, websites) and POP/POS, which serve as a legal record under the contract with the licensees.

  • Working with management to protect trademarks/copyrights and obtains all necessary third-party approvals from Senior Management, Sister Divisions, Legal, Talent, internal WBDCP Divisions, and other third parties/vendors.

Other

  • Acting as the brand ambassador and providing direction on submissions from licensees on brand integrity, creative direction and legal copy. 

  • Applying independent thinking and problem solving, along with the knowledge of Warner Bros. Discovery Consumer Products policies and procedures, and licensees’ processes and limitations to arrive at alternative solutions which benefit the licensee and continue to protect the Company legally.

  • Developing knowledge of properties in all CP categories, i.e., giftware, housewares, toys, apparel, accessories, publishing, and promotions.

  • Developing ability to acquire and work with knowledge of copyrights and trademarks for use in product approvals.

  • Working closely and collaboratively with key stakeholders.

  • Assisting with showroom merchandising and product display planning.

  • Assisting with receiving product samples at the office, storage and filing of samples.

  • Joining and having input in to key Staff and Licensee meetings as required.

QUALIFICATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Work Experience

  • Minimum 3 years in Brand Assurance or equivalent job experience. Retail, merchandising, art development, or overseas manufacturing/sourcing experience is needed.

  • Strong experience using Adobe creative programs.

  • Experience working in multi-national environments.

Knowledge/Skills

  • Clear written and verbal communication skills with excellent professionalism and manner.

  • Strong organisational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and the ability to take initiative.

  • Must have the ability to absorb and respond quickly to given information.

  • Must have the ability to learn the various properties and distinguish different styles of art from others in order to accurately process submissions.

  • Must have the ability to learn about art production and manufacturing processes in general.

  • Proficient in Adobe creative programs and Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Responsible, accountable and results-oriented.

  • Self-starter with ability to take initiative and work pro-actively.

  • Strong decision making and problem-solving capabilities.

  • Excellent attention to detail with high level of accuracy under pressure and an artistic eye.

  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to juggle several business unit responsibilities.

  • A strong team player who contributes to an environment that embraces constant change and innovation.
