Location: 118 High Street, Central Dunedin
Employment Type: Full-Time, permanent waged role. Monday to Sunday.
Shifts: Roster is over 7-days, day starts at 4/5:00am. We also need flexibility to work some evening shifts on occasions as well as functions when needed.
Hours of work: Guaranteed a minimum of 30 hours per week. Rotating roster that will include weekends.

Carlton Restaurant - Scenic Hotel Southern Cross
Your focus will be the Carlton Restaurant and also assisting with the Café.
We need a Breakfast Chef & the ideal candidate will have baking experience.

If you are a skilled Breakfast Chef with baking experience and not afraid of early morning starts then this is the right role for you.
What You'll Do and Your Responsibilities:
- Ensure freshness and quality of ingredients through meticulous stock rotation.
- Maintain precise food temperatures to meet hotel standards and menu specifications.
- Utilize baking expertise along with cooking skills to prepare a variety of dishes.
- Conduct thorough tests to ensure food is cooked perfectly.
- Portion, garnish, and serve food to attendees with attention to detail.
- Follow sanitation and hygiene protocols rigorously.
- Assist with inventory management and replenishment.
- Keep kitchen areas clean and organized.
- Collaborate with team members during busy periods.
- Assist in menu planning and pricing under the guidance of the Head Chef.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Minimum 3 years experience in the industry (Required)
- 1-2 years experience in a similar Kitchen role (Desirable)
- Food Handling Certificate
- Good baking experience
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and in writing)
