Canberra’s only refined vegetarian dining experience, Monster Kitchen and Bar, has a deep respect for locally sourced and seasonal ingredients landing an exciting set of fresh ideas with conscious consumption at the forefront. Monster Bar offers an elevated cocktail experience created with modern techniques using a selection of seasonal fruits and vegetables, ever-changing to highlight the season. Implementing our very own twist on the most iconic cocktails you’d only find in the best hotel bars around the world. The GigWe are currently on the lookout for our next Breakfast Chef to come join us here at Ovolo Hotels. Reporting to the Chef de Cuisine, you will be assisting with the growth of our food offering, menu and workflow design. It goes without saying that our food will be paramount, but not like that all too-slick, corporate blah blah experience happening elsewhere in your traditional restaurant. We have a bit of personality, a bit of freshness, interesting and quirky, we shine and are always changing. This is a Full-Time role and will require flexibility within your availability. Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:Assisting in menu planning, implementation and executionControlling food preparation and managing wastage for your sectionLeading by example as a hands-on-chef with excellent quality assurance and standardsAssist in the development through innovative and original menu planning and maintenance of high food standardsEstablishing and maintaining effective employee working relationships at all timesBring your on-trend ideas, new dishes, new concepts and new menus to make our food offering the best in the area Ensure the kitchen is kept clean and hygienic at all times.Ensure all stocks are kept under optimum conditions.Ensure all mis-en-place is always freshly prepared and on time.Ensure all dishes are being prepared to the correct recipe and to the correct quantity.Ensure the department is operated within the appropriate legislation and the appropriate records are maintained up-to-date.Personal grooming and appearance standards are met regarding cleanliness, sanitation and hygiene.Actively share ideas, opinions and suggestions in daily shift briefingsEnsure storeroom requisitions are accurateAbout youAt Ovolo, we are all about YOU.
