About the role:
In your new role of Breeder Manager, you will oversee the operations of their Breeder Farms located in Coleambally. With responsibility for managing all aspects of breeder production, you will ensure optimal animal health, welfare, and productivity and in addition:
- Manage day-to-day operations of Breeder Farms, including flock management, biosecurity, and maintenance.
- Develop and implement breeding programs to achieve production targets.
- Monitor and analyse production data to ensure optimal flock performance.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations related to animal welfare, health, and safety.
- Train, supervise, and motivate farm staff, fostering a culture of teamwork and excellence.
- Coordinate with veterinarians and nutritionists to optimise flock health and performance.
- Oversee egg collection, handling, and storage to maintain quality standards.
- Implement and monitor biosecurity protocols to prevent disease outbreaks.
With your hands-on approach, strong leadership skills, and a deep understanding of poultry breeding practices, you will bring:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, Animal Science and/or a related field is preferred along with a minimum of 5 years of experience in poultry breeding or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of poultry husbandry, breeding practices, and biosecurity measures.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
- Commitment to animal welfare and ethical farming practices.
