A large family-operated mixed enterprise in Central West NSW is seeking an Assistant Manager to assist in their Broadacre and Irrigated Cotton programs, which are spread across four properties plus additional lease blocks, culminating in 10,000 Ha of dryland and, depending on the season, 400 – 800 ha of Irrigation.
Working directly with the Cropping Manager and Owners, you will assist with all aspects of the cropping cycle and assist with leading the team of 3-5 full-time staff as well as working with contractors and suppliers, requiring strong communication and organisational skills. You will be mechanically minded and assist with the maintenance and repair of the machinery and infrastructure as required.
Generally, the team includes a full-time spray operator and mechanic; however, it is preferred for the successful to possess these skills to assist this team member and have a basic understanding of agronomy. A lot of pride has been taken in purchasing new John Deere machinery, with further capital expenditure being utilised for the lasering of the broadacre blocks and development of pontoon irrigation in replace of the current syphon system.

The candidate we are searching for will be confident in all aspects of the cropping cycle and the operation of the machinery associated with these tasks, along with the following attributes:
- Dryland and irrigation experience
- Mechanical aptitude and fabrication skills
- Strong communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
- Chemical certificate
- Spray rig experience
- MC Licence (advantageous)
