Wellington Shire Council currently has a unique opportunity for a qualified Building Inspector to join our thriving Building Team on a permanent full-time basis.
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced building professional to contribute to the delivery of effective and efficient building regulatory compliance services in the Wellington community.
You will be a professional, customer focused individual who will assist the Municipal Building Surveyor in the delivery of statutory services within the municipality in accordance with the Building Act and Building Regulations.
To succeed in this role, you will be an 'all-rounder' who can deliver a range of building compliance issues including asbestos management, structural integrity, fire compliance and building safety.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate how they meet the criteria below:
- How have you gained a high-level understanding of Acts, Regulations and Codes in relation to Building?
- Tell us about times when you have provided appropriate on-site directions during building audits, inspections and investigations.
- How do you self-manage your own work schedule and set priorities?
- What have you done to develop high level verbal and written communication skills?
- How do you gain cooperation and assistance from stakeholders?
- What is your qualification in Building Inspecting Limited or Building Surveying?
