JP Flynn Builders is an Australian owned company that has been primarily focused on the provision of low cost, high volume and high quality domestic insurance repairs for over 35 years.
With the support of Australia's largest personal insurers, we are seeking to grow even further in 2024.
This growth has presented an exciting opportunity for a Building Estimator to support our Victorian Operation with our insurance clients.
Reporting to the Estimating Manager, this role will be suited to a self-motivated person, who has excellent organisational skills, demonstrable building knowledge and a proven carpentry background.
As a key representative of JP Flynn and our insurer customers, your main responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out property inspections to ascertain and verify cause of damage.
- Providing accurate building assessment reports, fixed priced quoting, scope of works and estimated costs.
- Compile scope of works and competitive pricing on quoted building repairs.
- Meet internal and external KPI's.
- Manage time and resources to ensure timely completion and submission of all required documentation.
As the ideal applicant, you will have;
- Carpentry trade qualification
- Minimum 3 - 5 years' experience in the building / insurance, residential building sectors or Insurance Assessing
- Proven customer service skills
- Excellent time management, reporting and communication skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple competing priorities
- Trade qualification preferred
- Able to work autonomously and as part of a team
- High computer literacy and experience with an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) suite such as Prime Ecosystem
- Hold a current and valid motor vehicle license

Previous insurance estimating experience preferred, but not essential.
The successful applicant will undergo full training, tailored to level of experience and building background.
A fully maintained vehicle, laptop/tablet and smart phone, along with other tools of trade will be provided.
