Building Optimisation Engineer - HVAC

Reporting to the HVAC Manager, the Building Optimisation Engineer is responsible for the identification, financial analysis, engineering analysis, and implementation of improvements to the control systems and mechanical plant within the Crown Melbourne complex. A significant component of this work will include sustainability and patron comfort initiatives to enhance the Crown Melbourne complex.
Some responsibilities of the role will include, but are not limited to:
- Utilise an understanding of external trends, standards and practices to develop strategic direction and operational plans of Crowns buildings services systems
- Coordinate the identification, quantification and verification of opportunities to improve the environmental performance of Crown’s building services systems & infrastructure
- Identify solutions that provide a balance between function, efficiency, aesthetics, maintenance and cost
- Manage the building analytics platform systems and associated contract management
- Project manage Building services and Optimisation Projects
- Establish processes and measures to quantify the benefits and Return on Investment of implemented projects
- Develop reports to Crown management to track progress of initiatives
- Provide input into operational and capital expenditure plans to ensure the funds required to implement the agreed initiative programmes are in place
- Monitor and analyse performance and energy consumption to demonstrate improvements in efficiency and cost
- Ensure compliance with and adherence to all relevant legislation, policies and procedures
- Assist in improving Crown’s Vertical Transport, HVAC and refrigeration maintenance procedures
The following criteria will be considered when reviewing applicants:
- Minimum bachelor degree (Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred)
- Previous experience in a complex commercial or operational environment
- Previous exposure to and a record of achievement with building services upgrade strategies and activities
- Preferable technical experience in HVAC design and troubleshooting
- Demonstrated experience in the identification and implementation of energy savings initiatives
