 ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Full Time Ongoing
  • Band 7 - $101,414.98 plus 11% superannuation
  • Flexible and Hybrid work arrangements available

We are seeking a Buildings Asset Planner to join our small, dedicated facilities planning team. This important role works within the Infrastructure Planning department which is considered the asset owner of buildings and works to ensure the portfolio is fit for purpose, well maintained, and renewed appropriately to meet community needs.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Planning projects and preparing technical specifications for Council Capital Works Building projects.
  • Updating and reporting using asset and project management and systems.
  • Handling community requests for changes to infrastructure and managing multiple stakeholders.
  • Prepare Council briefings and reports on building matters.
  • Assist in managing Council’s building assets, contribute to the future planning of Council’s Building Portfolio and the continued development of the Building Asset Management Plan.
  • Prepare project scopes, specifications, tender documentation and organise construction plans including acquiring all relevant information required in readiness for tendering purposes.
  • Update and maintain appropriate Council records/systems including project and asset management software.
  • Provide guidance and advise on all legislation and regulations relevant to building code requirements for a wide variety of building projects.

 ABOUT YOU

You will have:

  • A Degree or Diploma qualified in construction management OR be a Registered Building Practitioner – Builder with the Victorian Building Authority OR related discipline.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of legislation and regulations relevant to building code. requirements and building asset management principles and practices.
  • At least 10 years relevant experience in building planning and construction, preferably with local government experience.
  • Proven track record in project planning and contract management/administrative skills of contractors and consultants within the building industry.
  • Proven experience in formulating technical specifications, plans and obtaining permits.

You will also have the ability to effectively lead the management of contractors, have proven experience in community consultation, project working group and stakeholder management; and have highly developed communication and interpersonal skills.
