We are seeking a highly motivated team member to join Council in this critical role which will apply a strategic approach to the reduction of bushfire risk on Council managed bushland areas.
As our Bushfire Planning Officer you will be responsible for guiding and implementing Council's Bushfire Risk Reduction Strategy and Bushfire Management Plans. It is a diverse and rewarding role providing specialist advice and setting the strategic direction of the program. The role will oversee the delivery of risk reduction work (breaks, trails and fuel reduction burns).
Ideally you will have significant experience working in Bushfire Planning, field- based assessment and risk reduction, together with knowledge of bushfire behaviour You will have the ability to think strategically, be a proven leader and a natural collaborator.

The position is full-time with a salary in the range of $99,965 - $113,307 per annum, depending on skills and experience, plus 12.5% employer superannuation contribution. The working hours include a 9-day fortnight and there may be option for other flexible working arrangements.
