The Smith Family is a children’s education charity that helps young Australians experiencing disadvantage to create better futures for themselves through harnessing the power of education. 

As part of our commitment to team member experience and modern ways of working, we are now seeking a talented, creative, and driven Business Agility Lead to join our family. In this transformative role, you will be responsible for helping develop and leading the education, implementation and embedment of practical Business Agility approaches, practices and governance throughout the organization, in partnership with the strategy team, to enable the nimble, responsive and sustainable translation of our strategy into meaningful customer and employee value.  You will also participate in, and support, the Agile Delivery Practice as part of the broader Digital & Transformation team.

About the role

You will be responsible for:

  • Leading the implementation of an end-to-end Business Agility system throughout the organisation
  • Ensuring comprehension, engagement, and adherence to agreed Business Agility approaches
  • Measuring the impact of Business Agility practices and identifying continuous improvement opportunities
  • Exemplifying an agile mindset and way of working across the broader business
  • Facilitating team discussions, education sessions and engagement workshops
  • Supporting and advising on the creation of team-level OKRs and KPIs
  • Facilitating and/or supporting cross-functional prioritisation and initiative alignment meetings
  • Guiding and coaching colleagues in lean, agile and human-centred design values and principles
  • Creating a trusting, safe and empowering environment for The Smith Family team members
  • Participate in agile delivery practice meetings and actively engage in practice activities

About you

As well as passion for community, you will bring the following: 

  • Demonstrated experience (2+ years) with end-to-end Business Agility approaches at scale
  • Strong experience with Lean management principles and concepts
  • Experience with human-centred design practices & methodologies
  • Experience in agile, lean or design thinking coaching in a complex environment
  • Ability to present complex information in accessible formats for a variety of audiences, in both oral and written forms
  • Experience in managing change impacts for multiple large stakeholder cohorts over a sustained period 
  • Strong ability to communicate with confidence and clarity to a diverse audience both in writing and verbally 
  • Proven ability to successfully negotiate with colleagues to find common ground and agree paths to keep work moving
  • Ability to establish and maintain internal networks and relationships
  • Highly developed stakeholder management and influencing skills
  • Highly developed critical-thinking and problem solving skills
  • Ability to prioritise workload within available capacity
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable
