Business Analyst (12 Month Fixed Term Contract)

Advance Thinking, a boutique consultancy with an extensive network of clients in the finance and insurance sectors, is looking for a skilled Business Analyst with technical expertise to join our financial services client's IT Modernisation team.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Business Analyst sits within a development team working alongside Product Managers, Software Engineers, Technical Analysts and Business Stakeholders to shape how we build and deliver value to our client's customers.
  
The Business Analyst is responsible for understanding and documenting new and existing end-to-end product development processes, preparing business specifications and assisting the testing team to build test scripts for user acceptance testing to ensure we are meeting the needs of our stakeholders and customers.

A creative problem-solver with a strong ability to understand the needs of our stakeholders and customers and communicate those needs in both technical and non-technical language. Your attention to detail is a critical skill.
  
The Skills we seek:

• 2+ years of experience in similar roles
• Practical experience working with Jira and Confluence
• Core agile experience and working within Agile environments
• Experience in creating user stories and acceptance criteria
• Exceptional communication skills, including both written and oral communication.
• The ability to identify the root causes of our customers problems
• The ability to elicit requirements and understand our business on a fundamental level
• Excellent stakeholder management skills
• Experience in preparing and running workshops

Importantly, we need you to be a team player and value the importance of our work ethic and culture.
  
It would be advantageous but not essential if you have experience with:

• Pega work flow automation
• AI Tools
• Workday  

Day to day tools we use and will need you to be proficient in:

• Jira
• Confluence & Wiki
• Miro
• MS Teams
• MS Suite of Products - Excel, Powerpoint, Word

Work Location and Style: This 12 month Fixed Term Contract role is based in Sydney, offering a hybrid work arrangement.
