The role:
The Business Analyst within the Projects, Process & Automation team is responsible for assisting in the planning, implementation, management, and coordination of the GBS Project slate in accordance with the business strategy, goals, and objectives.
This role is a 12 month contract based in Melbourne's CBD with free parking and flexible working arrangements (minimum 3 days on site).
Key responsibilities of this role include:
- Assist Project Manager with scoping and development of GBS Project Business Case’s
- Liaise with Business Sponsor, Business Project Managers, Business Stakeholders and Subject Matter Experts to define, develop and document Business Requirements
- Liaise with internal teams to prepare Functional Specifications that deliver agreed solutions to meet Business and IT needs and standards
- Maintain and trace requirements throughout project execution through to close
- Liaise with Business Unit representatives and IT functions to coordinate testing of IT solutions in preparation for signoff by Business sponsor
- Facilitate and support Development and Testing as required
- Develop test cases and write test scripts in support of user acceptance testing as required
- Take a lead role in Project Defect prioritisation and triage
- Support the maintenance and development of Wilson Group’s analysis and project delivery approach and methodologies
Our ideal applicant will have:
- Minimum of 3-5+ years of Business Analysis experience operating within a Business IT Project Delivery environment
- Knowledge of various project management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile & Hybrid)
- Stakeholder engagement skills including strong influencing and relationship skills and the ability to liaise and partner closely with internal business unit SME’s and leaders
- Demonstrated experience in the elicitation and documentation of both high-level and detailed business requirements
- Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into functional specifications for use within various IT delivery teams
- Ability to think outside ‘the box’ to overcome issues and find solutions where conflicts and difficulties arise
- High degree of ability to communicate and build trust to forge strong relationships with business, customer & IT bases
- Excellent written & oral communication skills with demonstrable ability in a variety of techniques to express technical information to non-technical readers / listeners
- Flexible and responsive to change, with ability to work on multiple projects at one time
