About the role

 

12 month Fixed Term Contract

An initial 12 opportunity exists in the highly engaged ANZ Plus Control Testing team.  The team is efficient, innovative, and a multidisciplinary risk enablement team who think about risk and compliance differently – providing simple risk solutions whilst always acting as a trusted partner.

 

The Controls Testing team coordinates controls testing across the ANZ Plus program in the Australian Retail division.  They are responsible for providing support to ANZ Plus business value streams and control owners through testing the control operating effectiveness.

 

As a Controls Uplift & Testing Expert, you will support the ANZ Plus program to identify, uplift, and assess controls to protect customers, shareholders, and the bank.  This role will assist in the development and implementation of control assurance and assessment methodologies, and approaches that utilise control automation testing techniques, indicator metrics and data driven insights to inform the effectiveness of the control environment.

 

You will also support delivery and implementation of the group risk transformation program activities across the division.

What could your day look like?

  • Establishing a standardised and consistent approach towards testing different types of controls and working with teams across the bank as needed (e.g., engineers, developers, Internal Audit, Technology Control Library project, etc.,)
  • Providing support to the Business and Control Owners through testing controls
  • Reviewing, validating, and supporting the uplift of controls for completeness and to meet minimum standards
  • Performing control operational effectiveness assessments by testing what matters, when it matters, and when there are changes to the control environment
  • Reporting observations, findings, recommendations, and outcomes related to control operating effectiveness assessments to Control Operators and relevant risk forums
  • Monitor the control environment for effective planning and testing execution (e.g., changes to control status, progress of completing recommendations/remediation activity, etc.)
  • Provide insight on the control assurance position to support better – informed decision making
  • Maintaining and manage controls risk data completeness and quality
  • Supporting the Business to successfully integrate and implement I.AM Amplified and NFR Hub requirements.

What's in your toolkit?

 

  • Strong understanding of risk management relating to risks, obligations and controls
  • Strong understanding of the fundamental controls management lifecycle
  • Strong experience in controls assurance testing across business process and technology systems / assets used
  • Deep experience in 1st Line assurance role, including control design and operational effectiveness testing
  • Data literacy and presenting and reporting on data.
  • Ability to proactively identifying opportunities to build / uplift controls to improve and better balance risk with customer propositions
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, ability to build and maintain supportive and collaborative relationships
  • Effective, persuasive, clear and concise communication skills – both verbal and written
  • Ability to look at things differently, challenge the status quo and innovate
  • Experience in organisational change, project management and agile practices
  • Ability to prioritise and balance competing priorities.

  • Any technology domain experience (e.g., Cloud, cyber, digital)
  • Understanding of Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS), NIST and ISO27001 is beneficial
  • Understanding of Python, JavaScript, C# and ability to read code
  • Fluency in creating and modifying SQL scripts
  • Understanding of application programming interface (APIs)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (e.g., Excel SharePoint, Teams), Confluence, Jira and reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Qlik, Power BI.).
