ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the General Manager, key responsibilities of this role include:
- Sales Planning: Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve and exceed sales targets.
- Business Development: Drive growth by developing partnerships with department stores and national retail chains in the furniture and homeware industry, expanding the client base and market presence.
- Account Management: Foster and nurture relationships with your client base
- Market Analysis: Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions to make informed business decisions.
- Sales Reporting: Generate regular sales reports and analysis to track performance against targets and provide insights for continuous improvement.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, operations, and customer service, to ensure seamless collaboration and a unified approach to customer satisfaction.
- Travel: Some travel is required to engage with clients, and explore new business opportunities.
- Proven background in sales and Business Development, with a focus on medium to large size retailers and corporate clients.
- Successful track record in B2B sales ideally within the furniture, homeware, or soft furnishing or similar industry.
- Wholesale experience with a strong understanding of B2B sales
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Proficient in computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office, including Excel.
- Demonstrated people management experience.
- Established network within the retail industry, including experience working with Buying Departments will be highly regarded.
