Ahoy there! Do you have what it takes to navigate the wild waters of Business Development and sales? Tasmanian Marine Distributors (TMD) is on the lookout for a Full-Time Business Development Manager & Sales All-Rounder extraordinaire to join their crew.
TMD is a trade and wholesale marine business dedicated to providing the marine industry with high-quality products, professional knowledge, and a positive customer experience. We have a diverse customer base and want to expand this into the future and nurture our current customers.
Your working week will consist of:
- Seeking & sourcing new business opportunities.
- Seeking new customers for existing products and investigating possible new products for existing and potential customers.
- Servicing retail chandleries statewide.
- Maintaining relationships with existing businesses.
- Developing marketing materials in conjunction with the Office Manager.
- Being responsible for servicing aquaculture and general marine customer bases including Shipbuilding, marine electrical, and mechanical customers.
- Travelling and visiting aquaculture customers around the state.
When you’re not on the road, you will support the rest of the team by:
- Picking and packing of orders for dispatch
- Invoicing/Quoting for customers
- Deliveries as required
- General warehouse duties
- Assisting clients on site
- Provide our customers a timely, warm, and informed experience by responding to inbound calls, placing customer orders, and providing product information and advice.
In summary, to be successful in this role you will require:
- Previous experience as a Business Development Manager or sales experience at a level that could translate to the higher position of Business Development Manager.
- Previous customer service experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills — able to communicate effectively with customers and team members
- A positive 'can do' attitude
- Knowledge of the marine industry
- Computer literacy
- Physical fitness relevant to the role
- Current forklift licence (preferred but not essential)
- Manual Drivers Licence
