As a branch of the executive, The Office of Vice President, First Nations leads engagement with colleagues across the University to ensure ANU is a world leader of First Nations issues through research, teaching and contributions to national policy and public debate, and seeks to enable leadership and discourse in the relationship between Indigenous Australians and the nation. ANU Gandaywarra Innovation (GI) is the ANU-backed First Nations innovation initiative working on ventures that address First Nations challenges, while catalyzing an ecosystem of support for Traditional Knowledge systems, Aboriginal economic self-determination, and long-term, reciprocal partnerships. GI is focused on Indigenous-Led solutions that use technology to scale economic development. We invest in Indigenous entrepreneurs, technologists, artists, community leaders and local organisations who have projects and ideas at any stage of the pipeline, with a specific focus on early stage and pre-seed. GI operates across 4 streams: Business (technology driven ventures and solutions), Community (innovation ecosystem), Knowledge, and Impact. There are various projects within each stream, as well as overarching projects to support ecosystem development and share knowledge and practice.
