CEFC Portfolio Management manage and report on our contracted portfolio of investments post financial close. This involves onboarding and ongoing investment management (including the management of sustainability obligations), insights analysis and reporting of investments and stakeholder relationship management.
The Business Intelligence Associate works within the Portfolio Management team and is responsible for supporting the quality assurance of data processing, analysis and reporting on CEFC’s portfolio of investments.
The role involves:
- Working closely with the origination teams in advance of transactions reaching contractual close to effectively capture accurate transaction information
- Supporting the production of regular reports to the executive committees (and ultimately Board), Government, and other stakeholders, covering portfolio performance and ad-hoc analysis needs
- Partnering with portfolio managers to produce portfolio analysis and reports to cover a range of stakeholder needs
- Communicating portfolio insights and findings to key stakeholders, based on sound analysis
- Working with other business units to capture and synthesise requisite information for specific initiatives/reporting (e.g. Annual Report, ESG, government)
- Identifying opportunities to garner better insights from the portfolio’s performance over time which can be used to better inform CEFC investment and industry activity and stakeholder engagement
- Assisting in implementing process improvements and developing self-service reports that are accessible, insightful, and meet the evolving needs of the broader business
Key accountabilities include:
Data capture and maintenance
- Reviewing and validating project data as investment commitments are made and then ensuring integrity of data and utilisation through the investment lifecycle
- Supporting identifying and ensuring relevant, appropriate information is captured in CEFC’s system and that this information is maintained and updated. This relates to both existing reporting and for new initiatives/reporting
Reporting and access
- Contributing to the preparation of regular reports and/or ad hoc analysis for the Portfolio Management team and other business units, including for reporting to the Asset Management Committee, RTN Asset Management Committee, Executive Investment Committee, Executive Risk Committee, other committees, CEFC Board, and external reporting, including Government reporting
- Providing reports, processes and Excel VBA applications through the application lifecycle
- Monitoring analytics and metrics results
Insights and Analysis
- Pro-actively seeking opportunities to interrogate data to draw out themes and insights from the portfolio and/or improve how information is used, reported and communicated
Process improvement
- Extending knowledge of Business Intelligence, including training users on available systems and reports, to provide wider data accessibility
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes and strategies with technology solutions
- Contributing to the development and maintenance of policies and procedures regarding collating and analysing data
- Supporting the Business Intelligence Manager to work with the IT team to develop improved reporting tools that make our data more accessible to the broader business
About You
Key skills, knowledge, experience, and qualifications:
- Minimum 1-3 years’ experience in a data management, reporting or Business Intelligence role, working with data and preparing reports tailored to relevant stakeholders’ needs
- Ability to identify stakeholders’ needs and translate complex and/or technical issues, presenting ideas logically, confidentially articulating key points
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail coupled with the ability to effectively manage workload by planning and prioritising.
- Ability to quickly digest new information, asking relevant questions, making sense of disparate information and integrating it to understand patterns and trends
- Communication and stakeholder management skills, experience building rapport and developing productive relationships with key stakeholders.
- Persistence to persevere when faced with obstacles and pressure, using an approach that focusses efforts on identifying ways forward
- An ability to Innovate and think creatively, using this to understand and find appropriate applications for data and analysis of results
- Possess a curious and exploratory mindset, questioning and utilising available sources of knowledge to identify and implement data related process improvements.
- Advanced Excel skills and demonstrable experience working with Excel
- Experience or interest in developing skills in data modelling and visualisation (Power BI)
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Business Intelligence or related field required
