Business Intelligence Developer - Cognos | Olap

The Business Intelligence Developer will be designing and developing Cognos reports and OLAP cube solutions for data analysis and visualisation.

We are seeking for an experienced Business Intelligence Developer with a proven track record in utilising the Microsoft technology stack alongside Cognos Analytics to deliver comprehensive Business Intelligence solutions.
You will be working within the Commonwealth Government environment to contribute effectively to a dynamic team focused on enhancing BI capabilities and driving data-driven decision-making processes.
Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain FM Models, Cubes, and COGNOS Framework Manager in alignment with business requirements and industry best practices.
• Design, develop, and support COGNOS reports and Online Analytic Processing (OLAP) cube solutions to facilitate data analysis and visualisation.
• Create and update technical documentation to ensure comprehensive understanding and efficient maintenance of BI artifacts.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand information requirements for reports, dashboards, and visualisations, translating business needs into technical specifications.
• Design, develop, and deploy dashboard solutions and multi-dimensional reports using IBM’s Cognos, adhering to data warehousing best practices.
• Participate in project planning, develop and execute test plans, and track activities to ensure timely project delivery.
• Address production defects and technical issues promptly, ensuring seamless operation of BI solutions.
• Administer Cognos securities and manage user group maintenance to maintain data integrity and access controls.

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of recent experience as a Business Intelligence Developer utilising Cognos and OLAP cubes.
• Proven experience delivering BI solutions within the Commonwealth Government environment.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to document and communicate complex business applications to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Extensive experience in business analysis, including developing comprehensive documentation for development teams.
• Proficiency in utilising the Microsoft technology stack and familiarity with industry best practices in BI development.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to foster positive relationships with users, product owners, and suppliers.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, fostering innovation, creativity, and collaboration to achieve project outcomes.

Contract Rate: $900-$1000 per Day (incl. super)
