Form of workOur large government client is seeking an experienced Business Intelligence Developer (NV1, or higher) based in Canberra ACT. Work collaboratively with Portfolio Performance Management team and other Branch members to deliver outcomes. Develop and maintain professional, respectful and positive relationships with users, product owners, and suppliers. Contribute to a harmonious team environment that fosters innovation, creativity, and team collaboration to deliver project outcomes and provide mentorship and guidance to other team members and third parties as required.
Under broad direction from the Data Management and Business Intelligence Lead, the successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders to understand information requirements for reports, dashboards and other visualisations and undertake analysis, design, development and maintenance of Business Intelligence artefacts (reports, dashboards and/or visualisations) to ensure business requirements are met. The Business Intelligence Analyst will have experience in:
- Development and support of FM Models, Cubes
- Development and support of the COGNOS Framework Manager
- Development and support of COGNOS reports
- Development and support of Online Analytic Processing (OLAP) cube solutions
- Develop and update technical documentation
- Following implementation standards and Industry best practice
- Design, develop and deploy dashboard solutions and multi-dimensional reports using IBM’s Cognos
- Work with team members to evaluate the needs of the company that relate to Cognos development
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications
- Develop and test plans to ensure a project’s successful delivery
- Participate in project planning
- Track activities to ensure all tasks are executed on time
- Build reporting solutions while adhering to data warehousing best practices
- Address any production defects
- Handle any technical issues
- Administer Cognos securities
- In charge of user group maintenance
Preferred Experience:
- At least 5 year’s recent experience as a Business Analyst
- Experience delivering these services within a Commonwealth Government environment
- Experience analysis, documenting and communicating complex business applications to both technical and non-technical colleagues
- Extensive business analysis experience developing documentation for development teams
Location of work: Canberra, ACT
Length of contract: March 2024 – June 2025 with extension options available upon business funds availability.
Security Requirements: Due to the nature of this role, you must be an Australian citizen and hold current NV1 or higher security clearance.
