The Role
The Business Intelligence Officer is responsible to the Brigade senior leadership team for policy interpretation and assurance, business administration and oversight of finance, resource planning and management, and corporate governance. They will often be required to work independently and, through the consolidation and communication of data analysis, provide stakeholders with critical insights into resource usage and corporate governance that enable command decision-making.
A Business Intelligence Officer should be skilled in organising, budgeting, and forecasting, as well as in negotiating and stakeholder engagement. Oral and written communication, interpersonal skills and policy interpretation are critical skills for this role. Key job requirements include:
- Manage the Brigade Headquarters' allocation of cash and capability resources
- Manage and redistribute Brigade resource allocations of cash and capability resources, and monitor usage, performance and commitment of all resources
- Assist the operations team in budgeting future years and conduct two cross-level activities per financial year
About our Team
Headquarters 1st Brigade is a dynamic team environment that is responsible for commanding and coordinating Unit's within the Brigade. The Brigade is currently undergoing an active Force Modernisation process that is seeing it transition to a Littoral Manoeuvre force to meet requirements of the Defence Strategic Review. As a result, there is considerable change underway with the staff focusing on preparing for this new role.
The Brigade also conducts a considerable number of Security Engagement activities with regional partners. This sees the Brigade both deploy personnel across the region and host members of foreign militaries for various exercises and activities. The Brigade has a strong relationship with the US Marines through the regular rotation of Marine elements through the NT. Overall, 1 Brigade has a diverse number of activities it conducts on a regular basis and is a rewarding and innovative work environment.
