Since 1957, the Chamber of Commerce Northern Territory has been the leading advocate for businesses across the region. Our mission? To tirelessly champion economic viability on local, national, and international fronts while providing steadfast support to our 1200+ members.
The Business Victim Support Program (BVSP) is managed and facilitated through the Chamber of Commerce NT and funded by the Northern Territory Government Department – Territory Families.
The program was initiated due to rising safety and security concerns from Territory businesses and Chamber of Commerce NT Members.
Role Overview:
As a Business Liaison Officer you’ll be responsible for building connections between local businesses and existing services such as Victims of Crime, Smarter Justice for Safer Communities Campaign, Government Grants, local Youth programs, Local Jobs Program, Restorative Justice Conferencing and more. It will be a proactive role working to establish and maintain working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate one on one meetings with local business leaders.
- Co-ordinate the day to day success of the BVSP Project.
- Develop and deliver business based support offerings and facilitate the liaison between businesses impacted by crime and anti-social behaviour, the Chamber of Commerce NT, and Territory Families.
- Link Business to relevant support and grant services.
- Create connections for the Involvement of businesses in restorative practices, diversion programs and victim offender conferencing which have positive impacts on people impacted by crime and the young people involved.
- Be able to deliver on project performance measures including detailed reporting and funding acquittals.
- Assist in project co-ordination including reporting, records management, marketing and communications.
Requirements:
- Evidence of highly developed networking, written and verbal skills, including - interpersonal, communications, report writing, collaborative partnerships, and stakeholder relationships skills.
- Strong business acumen and a working understanding of business operations.
- A working knowledge of the local business environment and current challenges faced in NT regional centres.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to organise, and effectively project manage.
- Must pass a Criminal History check.
- Must hold or be able to obtain an NT Ochre Card.
