You’ll be able to work close to home in a dynamic setting featuring cafes and retail options set amongst heritage buildings and open green spaces.The OpportunityA the fastest growing city in Australia, Melton City Council has a growing property management function, and a unique opportunity exists to proactively manage Council’s property portfolio in accordance with the relevant legislative requirements to ensure maximum benefit for the Melton community.The role will coordinate Council's property related projects including acquisitions and disposals of land, road closures, easements, section 173 Agreements and other property / land dealings, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and Council policy.Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic property advice on complex and/or sensitive leasing, licensing, acquisition, and disposal matters.
- Process and prepare documentation relating to acquisitions and transfers of land/property in accordance with legislative and policy requirements.
- Coordinate responses to referrals on development applications, planning proposals, land transfer to Council and public works proposals.
- Develop effective property policies and procedures that guide Council in making decisions around the use and management of Council’s landholdings.
- Prepare reports to Council, the Executive Leadership Team and other relevant stakeholders relating to property matters.
- Tertiary qualifications in relevant field of study or equivalent such as law, property, finance or valuations further formal qualifications in the field of expertise or in management alternatively lesser formal qualifications together with extensive and diverse experience, or intensive specialist experience.
- A minimum of five years industry experience, preferably in local government.
- Experience in the management of leases, licenses land acquisitions and property disposals.
