Christian College Geelong is excited to announce the creation of a new full-time and ongoing position within our institution – Business Manager. We are an educational institution committed to providing high-quality education to our students. As we continue to grow and develop, we are looking for a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our dedicated team and contribute to the establishment and success of this new role.
WHAT YOU BRING
As the Business Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and establishing the financial and administrative functions of our school. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the successful candidate will have the unique opportunity to build and lead initiatives related to budgeting, financial planning, human resources, and day-to-day operations. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills, financial acumen, and a passion for supporting educational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the College’s financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processes
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures in line with organisational goals and regulatory requirements
- Provide strategic guidance to senior leadership on financial matters, identifying opportunities for growth and improvement
- Collaborate with department heads to develop and monitor departmental budgets
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and accounting standards
- Facilitate effective community and stakeholder engagement.
- Lead and manage staff, including hiring, training, and performance management.
- Foster a culture of transparency, accountability, and ethical behaviour in all financial activities
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management, with significant experience in a leadership role.
- Knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis, budgeting, and financial reporting.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance issues affecting educational institutions or non-profit organizations.
- Strong strategic planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities.
- Commitment to the mission and values of Christian College Geelong.
