APG are looking for qualified MECHANICAL FITTER who have experience in manufacturing and are looking for an ‘’ongoing casual” role where you can learn and grow, with the goal to become a permanent member of the team.
Hours for this role are: Day shift – 6am – 2pm Pay rate: $47.14
The role:
With a strong commitment and eye for continuous improvement, you will play an integral role and work closely with the Senior Manufacturing Engineer to deliver on key improvement initiatives throughout the plant and provide technical support as required. You will work with mechanical machinery such as conventional lathes, milling, grinding, welders, process pumps, conveyors, and pneumatics drives. Other tasks include but not limited too.
- Fault finding and troubleshooting to limit downtime and improve operational efficiency.
- Regular maintenance programs (Preventative and Breakdown)
- Fabricate, maintain or repair plant, equipment and structures.
- Lead or participate in continuous improvement activities and projects.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
- Involved in plant audits and make recommendations regarding improved machine performance.
- Demonstrated commitment to Safety First in the workplace and working toward Zero Harm
- Formal Qualifications - Cert III in Mechanical Engineering or Fitter & Turner
- Experience with preventative and breakdown maintenance on all mechanical machinery
- Ability to read and follow equipment schematics, logic diagrams and engineering drawings.
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative in problem solving and in exercising judgement.
- A flexible, adaptive, and agile mindset with a proven ability to work autonomously.
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Desire and commitment to learn, develop new skills and work as a contributing team member.
