What will you do?
Our Brisbane-based Electrical, Instrumentation and Controls team are excited to welcome a new Cadet Electrical Drafter.
You will play an integral part and work along-side highly skilled specialists that ‘bring ideas to life’ for our clients across all types of industrial projects.
You will have the opportunity to design, update and improve complex machines and material handling infrastructure for a number of our key clients.
The diversity of the EIC practice will also provide you the opportunity to work across multiple industries and on both Greenfield and Brownfield installations.
As a Student Electrical Designer, you will be responsible for assisting your team to deliver both 2D and 3D Design deliverables.
The key requirements are:
- Passion for electrical, instrumentation and/or controls work.
- Willingness to learn from other designers and engineers.
- Enthusiasm for a role that is both challenging and rewarding.
- Understanding and adherence to internal company and industry policies.
- Willingness to work with diverse teams on a wide variety of projects.
- Confidence to collaborate with other disciplines to deliver multi-discipline designs.
- Ability to understand new concepts and prioritise multiple project demands.
- Confidence to communicate and question, to help drive personal development.
- Desire for a role with ongoing skills development and excellent career pathways.
- Attention to detail, as the role will involve modification, control and issuing of design deliverables.
- Ability to apply drafting technologies, to deliver optimised EIC designs.
- Understanding of the constraints typical in a consulting industry.
Here are the key things you will need to have in order to ‘bring ideas to life’:
Required:
- Willingness and aptitude to learn/develop electrical design skills, drafting skills and coding skills.
- Currently enrolled / eligible to enrol in an Associate Degree of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (or equivalent).
- Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE).
- Experience with CAD Drafting software packages (e.g. AutoCAD / MicroStation).
- Interest in 3D Modelling design tools and packages.
- Basic understanding of data management, and digital information.
