While working at the City of Mandurah, you will developtechnical skills in design, surveying and construction engineeringthrough on-the-job training.
The cadetship is a full-time fixed-term contract for a period offour years. You will attend TAFE to obtain a Certificate IVin Surveying and a Diploma of Surveying.
Qualifications/Skills
- Successful completion of Year 12 or ATAR (with passes in Mathematics (Calculus), English, Physics and Chemistry)
- Current unrestricted C class national drivers licence
- Current Recreational Skippers Ticket (RST)
- Computer literate
- High level of written and oral communication skills with people at all levels
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Organised with the ability to meet required deadlines
- Keen interest in developing skills, knowledge and experience in the delivery of surveying services
- Interest and commitment to undertake a qualification in surveying
- Ability to work effectively and cooperatively within a team environment
- Ability to follow instructions
What you’ll do:
- Develop skills and knowledge required to undertake surveying and engineering duties
- Assist surveyors in general surveying duties
- Use CAD Software to produce drawings
- Use survey equipment such as GPS’s, Total Stations and Levels
- Collect, record and validate detailed survey information
- Learn surveying and measurement skills
- General drafting duties, manual or computer aided
The four year cadetship is full-time (38 hours per week). It attracts a salary range of $34,398 to $54,362 gross per annumdependent on age.
