Westforce Construction was originally established in 2006 primarily as a civil construction contractor. Since then the company has grown and diversified into a multi-disciplined contractor venturing into structural steel fabrication, Precast Concrete Panels fabrication and erection, electrical installation high and low voltage and the design and construct of civil works and commercial buildings.
We are currently looking qualified and experienced candidates for the following available positions:
- Quantity Surveyor
- ICT Support and Test Engineer
To be considered for the Quantity Surveyor opportunity, you will need to be Degree Qualified in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or similar.
You will also need to demonstrate:
- Building and Construction Industry knowledge with strong client and stakeholder networks.
- Solid understanding of value engineering principles.
- Experience as an Estimator in the Construction field.
- Exceptional time management, multitasking, interpersonal skills, and negotiation skills.
- Extensive knowledge of best industry practices and standards.
- Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:
- Ongoing review of contractor progress claim quantities against contract quantities
- Consulting with Architects, Engineering Professionals, and other professionals, and Technical and Trades Workers
- Organising and directing site labour and the delivery of construction materials, plant, and equipment, and establishing detailed programs for the coordination of site activities.
- Providing support to Contract Management activities on projects.
- Reviewing re-measured quantities with Contractor and verify against drawings and actual installed quantities.
- Providing ongoing and timely preparation of supporting documentation for contract variations
- Assisting Project Manager in preparing claims for monthly valuations
- Ensuring adherence to building legislation and standards of performance, quality, cost, and safety
- Monitoring changes to designs, assessing effects on cost, and measuring, valuing, and negotiating variations to designs
- Estimating site instruction and contract variation values and assess contractor submitted costs
This role is based at our office in Welshpool with regular visits to tender sites and project sites.
A salary package between $80,000 - $120,000 will be offered to the successful candidate.
To be considered for the ICT Support and Test Engineer opportunity, you must have experience in a similar role within the resource industry and/or previous IT experience.
Reporting to the Accounts Manager, your role will be to develop procedures and strategies to support, create, maintain, and manage technical quality assurance processes and guidelines and systems infrastructure. You will also investigate, analyse and resolve system problems and performance issues and Test the behaviour, functionality and integrity of systems.
The role will also include, but is not limited to:
- Scheduling and conducting quality audit inspections, and analysing and reviewing systems, data, and documentation
- Identifying variations and potential high risk areas in securing adherence to standards and procedures
- Recommending corrective action plans and improvements to users and management in the resolution of non-compliance with standards detected through monitoring and auditing of processes and procedures
- Communicating, educating and liaising with users and management to adherence to standards and procedures
- Assisting in troubleshooting, diagnosing, testing and resolving system and hardware problems and issues
- Developing, conducting and providing technical guidance and training in application software and operational procedures
- Testing, identifying and diagnosing functionality errors and faults in systems, and programming code to ensure systems perform to specification
- Performing organisational systems architecture reviews and assessments, and recommending current and future hardware and software strategies and directions
- Creating and reviewing technical documentation
Other valuable skills and attributes include:
- High level of computer knowledge and proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to develop and maintain working relationships
- Ability to use, initiate and maintain a high degree of confidentiality, discretion, and judgement
- Ability to multi-task and appropriately manage conflicting priorities with high attention to accounts detail is essential
A salary package between $90,000 - $110,000 will be offered to the successful candidate.
