The Opportunity:
As a Cadet Project Engineer at Force Fire, you will be working closely with the leaders in the Company with an aim to transform the fire protection landscape. You'll interact with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders, coordinating the seamless execution of multiple dynamic projects concurrently.
Our Cadet Project Engineer will be committed to the job, enthusiastic to learn, hardworking and responsible in everything, but especially with their own safety and the safety of others.
They will be able to organize their time efficiently, identify project goals and plan to achieve them.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare, schedule, coordinate and administer projects.
- Assist Project Engineers in performing overall administration (budget, schedule, plans, personnel’s performance) and report regularly on project status.
- Assist Project Engineers to monitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications.
- Actively interact daily with clients and site teams to interpret their needs and requirements and represent them in the field as requested.
- Assist senior team members in developing new projects.
- Maintain positive communications and relationships with team members, management, vendors and clients.
- Assist Project Engineers to develop engineering deliverables and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
- Required to work to a fixed budget and suggest new methods for better achieving the company’s goal while optimizing customer experience.
- Use diagnostic skills to identify problems and offer possible solutions.
- Apply an inquisitive sense and 'question' 'why' and 'how' things are done, with the aim of improving procedures and productivity.
- Keep up to date on industry trends and developments.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Actively participate in meetings as requested.
- Develop knowledge of the current Fire Safety Legislation in NSW
Requirements:
- An engineering degree in the required field or prior experience
- Cultivate and maintain a professional image at all times.
- Have a positive and good attitude.
- Establish good working relationships with other team members.
- Ability to work in an office environment as well as in the field as requested.
- Ability to work in a team and in a diverse workforce.
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office products including Outlook.
- Intermediate knowledge of design and visualizations software such as AutoCAD.
- Ability to learn company specific software as needed or required.
- Use your intellectual and analytical abilities to further your development in the engineering profession.
- Work to develop your initiative and your innovative skills.
- Be able to retrieve and use relevant information.
