Gathered Bakers is a family owned and run bakery that is a friendly and thriving hub for its local community. Since opening 2 years ago we have grown and expanded whilst continuing to consistently offer artisan baked bread and sweet treats.
We are a team of professionals and casuals, making real food, with care. We love making from scratch, including jam, granola, chai, hot choc, etc, and this is something we are extremely passionate about.
At Gathered we strive to foster connections that go beyond the bare minimum: within our team, with our customers and with our suppliers. Everyone is an important part of our story and offering and we want them to feel that way too.
Qualifications & experience
- Have managed a team in the hospitality industry for a minimum of 2 years
- A passion for good food and coffee
- Good communication skills and ability to authentically connect with people
- Have a desire to train and equip others
- Flexible with hours available to work, including weekend days
- Able to analyse sales data to improve profitability
- Have minimum 5 years hospitality experience and stayed with jobs for minimum 12 months
- Outgoing personality as well as a genuine desire for customer connection and staff engagement
Tasks & responsibilities
- You will manage the team on a day to day basis, working alongside them to ensure there is smooth operational flow. You will be on the floor and will be trained on our coffee machine and also assist with the prep team.
- It is the Cafe Manager's role to ensure all team members are trained and equipped to do their job well, as well as feeling nurtured and valued.
- The Café Manager must be able to continue the success of the business in line with our values and goals, which includes sales growth, staff retention and sustainability of the business and general vibe.
- The Cafe Manager will report to the owner and together will nut out ideas to grow and improve the business.
- Oversee management of stock and stock rotation together with the senior Baker.
- Connect, grow and manage Shift Supervisors.
- Operations will form part of your role, with the other part being in house Management, depending on the applicant these tasks will vary.
