About the company

The Australian Automobile Association (AAA) is the peak body for Australia’s motoring clubs (NRMA, RACV, RACQ, RAA, RAC, RACT, AANT) and their 8.9 million members. The AAA undertakes extensive research and analysis on issues affecting Australia’s transport systems including affordability, road safety and vehicle emissions.   

The AAA is a member of the Federation Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) and it also supports its constituent clubs’ participation in the Global Mobility Alliance (GMA). 

About the role

The Campaign Director is a diverse, engaging and highly rewarding position.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering innovative advocacy campaigns, underpinned by a strong national media voice, coordinated club communication, and the activation of third-party supporters.

Reporting to the Director – External Affairs, the Campaign Director will be responsible for end-to-end project management of advocacy campaigns that build stakeholder awareness and community support.

The key responsibilities include: 

  • Autonomously managing communication projects from initial briefing to execution. 
  • Developing key service relationships with AAA member clubs, campaign partners, and creative or media agencies.
  • Implementing and tracking the AAA's various advocacy campaigns.
  • Ensuring innovative campaigns are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Working independently with a multi-disciplinary team all the while supporting a collaborative culture. 

About You

  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder relations skills, you will have a natural ability to build trust and respect with a diverse range of stakeholders, including your colleagues and members of the AAA.
  • Hands-on experience with contemporary campaigning tools.
  • Previous project management / account management experience in marketing, agency, comms-based role.
  • Experience in managing contracts, external agencies and suppliers, and strong organisational skills are essential attributes to ensure the success of the team.

Tertiary qualifications in communications; marketing or other related discipline are essential.
