Job description

Maria Regina Catholic Primary School, Avalon is currently search for a Canteen Manager. The successful candidate will be suitably qualified and enjoy working in a dynamic and cohesive team.
This is a temporary, part-time (36 hours per fortnight) opportunity to commence on 29 April 2024 and will be for the remaining of the 2024 school year. During this engagement, the successful candidate will be required to work on Monday, Thursday and Friday of every week.

Specific Criteria

  • Work cohesively within a team, including school leadership, teachers, parents and students.
  • Motivate school community to volunteer and assist in the school canteen.
  • Have all necessary qualifications to run a school canteen, including food handling certifications.
  • Enthusiasm for creating healthy and sustainable menu for students.
  • Ability to work under time restraints to prepare, cook, organise meals for students.
  • Experience in cooking healthy snacks and lunches for children (including onsite in the school canteen).
  • Ability to ensure the highest standard of hygiene, organisation and time management is upheld at all times.
  • Experience in managing finances, online ordering system, volunteer timetables and communication with the school community.

Position on COVID-19 vaccinations

Given the current management of risks associated with COVID-19 in the community, and the gradual wind-back of some settings, CSBB has decided to no longer require all staff to be fully vaccinated, effective 19 September 2022. Staff who are not vaccinated will be required to wear masks when working with children at greater risk of serious illness owing to a medical condition and/or physical disability.
