We are looking for a few efficient, enthusiastic, and friendly person to work in our School Canteens. We have openings for canteen assistant or kitchen hand to work 5 days per week (8am-2pm). We operate during the normal Victorian school days and are closed during school holidays and public holidays.
This job is for experience hospitality worker who is looking to cut down the long and unstable working hours by offering flexible hours and work life balance.
The areas of work are either in one of these location- Montmorency, and Box Hill area, and are suitable for people who live nearby in those area.
Duties Include:
- Organize, and prepare foods according to the menu. Basic cooking and food preparation skill is needed.
- Checking all supplies against invoices and delivery dockets.
- Ensure that stock is kept at appropriate levels and are able to assist the canteen manager to maintain stock inventory.
- Servicing the students and teachers using our POS system.
- Help with washing and tidying up the kitchen area.
- Maintain and keep kitchen and all service area clean and tidy.
- Adhering to Australian Food Safety Standards and Food Standards Code of the kitchen
To be considered, the following criteria is desirable:
- Worked previously in a café or a food industry environment.
- Barista or coffee experience is a bonus.
- Able to demonstrate to able to work with others in a team environment.
- Experience in a food preparation and service setting.
- Able to work fast, efficiently and under pressure.
- You must have a positive can-do attitude, and self-motivated.
You are also needed to be a holder of:
- Food Safety and Handling certificate.
- Must be vaccinated for Covid19; at least two jabs.
- Working for children certificate.
