Canberra Heart Rhythm Centre is a specialised Cardiac Electrophysiology clinic in Canberra, dedicated for patients with heart rhythm disorders. 

We are looking for a dynamic professional and experienced person for a busy specialist Medical practice in Canberra comprising of Cardiology and Cardiac Electrophysiology (Canberra Heart Rhythm). We are a large team made up of a dynamic and enthusiastic group and are looking for a keen individual to join us. Overview of the position: 

The position is full-time. The position roles include:

• Face to face and over the phone communication with patients, business partners and third party representatives 
• Assisting in cardiology diagnostic services by performing, understanding and analysing the cardiac electrophysiological diagnostic testing such as ECG, Holter monitoring, blood pressure monitors, exercise stress testing and tilt table testing
• Measuring weight, height and blood pressure
• Appointment bookings and confirmations for trial follow ups 
• Submission of ethics and governance application for new and ongoing Clinical Trials 
• Retrieving, scanning and uploading of documents
• Reviewing and abiding by study protocols for data collection, patient follow up and notification of adverse events 
• Undertaking site initiation visits and site monitoring visits
• Medical file preparation
• Maintenance of databases for research and other processing
• Liaising with Clinical Trial coordinators as necessary

This role has been made available due to the increase in Clinical Trials conducted at our site. We continue to increase our participation in Clinical Trials, and are seeking a coordinator willing to be actively involved in the exciting first in human trials, and other future technology trials at our site. 

The role has potential career growth and progression, with the opportunity to further skills and knowledge. Career opportunities involve Clinical Trial start up, specialistation in new technology, trial leadership and project management. There are also opportunities to advance as a Cardiac Scientist into electrophysiology and device management. Training for those roles will be provided by the practice. Involvement in clinical research has the potential to lead to funded national and international travel if research is accepted.

Working environment: 

Canberra Heart Rhythm is located in Garran, Canberra. Our team, including our satellite site in NSW, comprises of 25 staff (administration, nurses, sonographers, Research Assistants and Cardiac Scientists). You will work with all staff closely on a daily basis to complete shared roles, ensure continuity of patient care, follow protocols and provide patients with an enjoyable and memorable experience. The team is supportive and will assist in guiding your education and training to a point where you are comfortable to work independently.

We are looking for a happy, bubbly and eager to learn individual to join our team. This particular person will take on the role of patient enrolment and follow up for Clinical Trial patients and will ensure necessary clinical treatment has been arranged. We are looking for a person who always approaches work with a positive attitude, are an enjoyable team member to be around and are always willing to help a fellow colleague. Training for specific studies will be provided.

Essential skills and qualifications required by applicants: 

1. Experience in clinical research or as Clinical Trial coordinator  

2. Experience with ethics submission, clinical governance and patient enrolment

3. Be willing to work flexible hours and work collaboratively in a team.

4. Proficient computer skills and experience with Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc)

Desirable skills: 

1.  Experience in using a medical software (Genie, HealthTrack, etc.) and Medicare billing 

2. Work experience of more than 2 years desirable but not essential

4. Knowledge of Data entry for research (Excel, Microsoft Access) 

5. Basic cardiology knowledge with understanding of implantable cardiac devices
