Wintringham is a specialised non-religious not-for-profit welfare organisation. We are committed to providing older people who are at risk or have experienced homelessness with a range of high-quality care, housing and services. We employ more than 1,000 staff across Victoria and Tasmania
McLean Lodge offers affordable, high-quality accommodation and support to people aged 50 years and over. It also offers a delightful cottage setting which provides a safe, caring family-style environment for residents who enjoy a connection with the outdoors.
Your new role
We are currently seeking an eager and enthusiastic Registered Nurse or Enrolled Endorsed Nurse to join the team at our McLean Lodge as a Care Manager on a Full-Time basis. Your fortnightly roster will be as follows:
Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday (0700-1506)
Week 2: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday (0700-1506)
Your responsibilities and duties will include:
- Overseeing the personal care and nursing functions within the Aged Care Home.
- Ensuring that quality care is provided to all residents and that duty of care is met
- Assisting with the development and implementation of detailed personal care plans, assessments and programs as required
- Providing quality services in a manner which maintains and enhances the independence of residents and maximises their lifestyle options.
- Liaise with doctors, nurses, other health care providers and the pharmacist to facilitate optimum health care and clinical practice for the residents.
- Ensure that residents are encouraged to maintain their independence and provide an environment that encourages residents to maintain lifestyles of their choice.
- Ensure that Quality of Care and Accreditation Standards are met and championed.
- Registered Nurse Division 1 or Enrolled Endorsed Nurse
- Current AHRPA Registration (mandatory)
- Knowledge and understanding of the special needs of older people
- Experience in gerontology / community / palliative / mental health / alcohol and drugs or related specialty
- Knowledge and skills to perform personal care and clinical tasks
- Ability to work both in team and autonomously
- Keen eye for detail
- Prior experience in homelessness, aged care, welfare, disability, allied health or community care is highly desirable
- Excellent communication skills
- The ability to enhance or maintain our residents’ independence and lifestyle
- A friendly and non-judgmental attitude

Successful candidates will be required to comply with the Wintringham Health and Immunisation policy including having three doses of a COVID-19 vaccine before commencing employment and must provide evidence.
